Arch Madness is back and the Missouri Valley Conference tournament rolls into its second day when No. 1 seed Indiana State (26-5) takes on ninth-seeded Missouri State (17-15) at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. The Sycamores won their first MVC regular-season title since 2000, finishing 17-3 in conference play, while the Bears were 8-12 but have won their last two games. Indiana State, which has won four in a row, last played in the NCAA tournament in 2011 but were in the Associated Press Top 25 this season for the first time since Larry Bird was on campus in 1978-79. Missouri State hasn't played in March Madness since a Sweet Sixteen run in 1999.

The Bears dismantled No. 8 seed Murray State in the first round on Thursday, holding the Racers to 21.1% shooting in a 60-35 rout. Alston Mason scored 22 points, Chance Moore had 12 and N.J. Benson finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Mason gets 17.7 points per game, Donovan Clay posts 12.6 points a night and Benson averages 7.8 boards.
The Sycamores clinched the MVC title on Sunday with an 89-77 victory over visiting Murray State. Ryan Conwell went for 24 points and 12 rebounds and Robbie Avila scored 23 points. Avila nets 17.6 points per game, Isaiah Swope puts in 16.6 points an outing and Jayson Kent averages 12.7 points and 7.9 rebounds.
Missouri State is 54-29 all-time against Indiana State, which swept both meetings this season. The Sycamores rolled to an 88-66 romp at home on Jan. 16 and clipped the Bears 73-71 in Springfield, Missouri, on Feb. 10.
